YGO Card scanner [Wii]
Has anyone seen that new YGO card scanner? I think it's for a wii game, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what it's called?

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
I know, I did it myself at first. At any rate, whenever this cards release is announced, I may get me one.

Yeah, I just remembered seeing an ad, and then it never came out. I would've bought one.

Like the site I linked to said, it is getting worked on for bugs right now I think.
Should be out before this upcoming Holiday Season (a long time away from now)

I can see how there could be a lot of bugs with that kind of device. I mean, most of the time, the Duel Terminal at my hobby shop doesn't even work, and that's a much simpler system.

I heard it works similar to the way DT does.

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
That's not a good thing, that would mean it can only read specialized cards....
I'm hoping it just reads the number on the card. Instead of having that code in the center of the card like the DT ones.

I said it works LIKE DT does, not exactly the same. It will read normal cards just fine. (Or maybe that's what's wrong with it?)

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
This is a total guess about how DT works but:
I think it can tell which card is which by the amount of light coming through the card (the light is interrupted by certain parts of the card, distinguishing it)
This scanner would actually have to either read the title or the number of the card, which is more difficult. They still should have been able to do it though.

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
The exposing process woudln't be very easy to do on cards that are similar. All YGO cards are similar. Their backs would prevent light from penetrating to begin with. The foil couldn't be read accurately enough to varify that that is the card the user wants to be scanned. It probably just reads the number. I mean, my phone reads barcodes.

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
You can see through DT cards. Hold one up to a light. When you do, you can see a square in the middle of the card. I'm pretty sure the DT is reading that square.

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
That may be true. I don't own any DT cards aside from Montage Dragon.
But for this scanner, it would have to read the card # and be updateable for when newer cards come out.

Re: YGO Card scanner [Wii]
I dunno. on my droid, there's an app called Google Goggles. it can take a picture of a business card and take all of the info off of there and add the person as a contact in my phone. printed words shouldn't be too difficult for the machine to read if my phone can do it...
