Way of the Sword [TCG-ADV] Empty Way of the Sword [TCG-ADV]

Post by Chiaki Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:08 am

Here is my list for Six Samurai following the new cards and list. After much testing and tinkering, I have found a build that embodies the Spirit of the Samurai and is more than capable of dealing an OTK within the first five turns. I hope it is not too-cookie cutter. -.-

Deck Count: 40

Monsters: 15

2 Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
3 Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan
3 Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki
3 Kagemusha of the Six Samurai
2 Hand of the Six Samurai
1 The Six Samurai - Yaichi
1 Enishi, Shien's Chancellor

Spells: 13

1 Gateway of the Six
3 Shien's Smoke Signal
3 Six Samurai United
2 Enemy Controller
1 Dark Hole
1 Giant Trunade
1 Reinforcement of the Army
1 Monster Reborn

Traps: 12

2 Musakani Magatama
1 Double-Edged Sword Technique
2 Dimensional Prison
2 Magic Cylinder
1 Ceasefire
2 Solemn Warning
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Royal Oppression
======
Side Deck

2 Zombie World
3 Dimensional Fissure
2 Corridor of Agony
3 Macro Cosmos
2 Consecrated Light
2 Kinetic Soldier
1 The Six Samurai - Kamon
======

Now, to explain why certain cards are in the deck.

Magic Cylinder slashes life, and stops attacks. Nothing makes an opponent more scared to swing than after they take 2300 or more damage against a deck meant to swarm like mad. It allows me to sit back and plan as opposed to only having an OTK mindset the entire duel.

Hand of the Six Samurai can Raigeki the field. I call it the Handjob.

Enemy Controller, I felt, was a better card than Compulsory for the flow of the Samurai archetype. It stops that one attack that might cripple me, or I can use it to take control of their monster for direct attacks, as well as Synchroing.

That about concludes it.

Your sarcasm is heavy.

How is Solemn Judgement working out for you?

Ceasefire sounds fun in this deck Very Happy especially with the swarm.

To be honest...I have yet to use it. o.O

I don't recall drawing it in any play testing I have done so for. Perhaps I could swap it for another Compulsory or Magatama?

Flip all face-down Defense Position monsters on the field face-up. Flip Effects are not activated at this time. Inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each Effect Monster on the field.

Good deck. Yes, ceasefire would be perfect here. I would keep solemn judgment. You might want to use a temple of the six, to replace some of the lost counter generating ability from gateway. I know it's considered a bad card, but it could be useful now. And you could search it with terraforming.
I'm not sure what to take out though. I also really like the idea of teching in some draw power like morphing jar or even upstart goblin/reckless greed.

Just some ideas.

Chiaki, if I can in the near future, I would like to test my Machine deck against that.

Lucien, as I have working YVD now, we can go ahead and do that.

I added a side deck.

Made some extra tweaks. Got rid of a Shinai for a Hand and fit Zanji into the side.

This is for countering stall cards like Reaper and Mallon.

Just because of your lack of resources, does not make you a bad player. It's a nice six sam build.

Deck runs good.

P.S. Chiaki, I know you are accustomed tothe way Pojo works, but there is no Auto-Merge feature here. Please use the Edit button whenever possible. Otherwise I have to manually merge them. I'm a lazy person.

Chiaki does not have a lack of resources. He likes the deck this way. He doesn't want "another Six Sam Net Deck". I think his build is brilliant.

I'm gonna build a Six Sam Deck cause I'm bored.

Anyway, from what I seen of his Spell list, I'm probably hi-jacking it.

I'll have to play against this to form criticism. It will probably be something along the lines of "oh my god what is this incomprehensible thing running me over".

The deck seems very well thought out. I'm surprised at the choice of CED over warning though.

You do know that Six Sams can play a control strategy.

2 Warning = 120 dollars.

2 CED = 2 dollars.

I like that math.

Nevertheless, after thinking about it, having both would be awesome in this deck. So, I fit them in. Axed a Stun and a Mizuho. Hello, Solemn Warning.

I also overhauled my side deck.

Morphing Jar boosts draw power, Dimensional Prison keeps things off the field permanently. I had a lot of issues with Compulsory just being a one-turn stall as opposed to a true solution.

And Shien is like...just Shien. He didn't really have much place in the deck, honestly. I mean, with the swarm capability and destruction possibilities with Mizuho and Hand, coupled with Double-Edged, getting game is just as easy without him.

I also added a third Magatama. Because that card is just plain good.
